Questions
Good to know
Is it only for emergencies?+
Yes — that's the entire point. The page it opens is designed to be read in seconds by someone who has never met you.
What if the person scanning has no data?+
The page is tiny and text-only, so it loads on a weak connection. We also recommend writing one critical line (e.g. “Type 1 diabetic”) on the physical card.
Can anyone see my details?+
Only someone who physically scans your code (or has its link). It shows your first name and the emergency fields you chose — nothing else. You can revoke the code at any time.
How much does it cost?+
A once-off R100.00 joining fee, then R50.00 a month or R550.00 a year. Your first month or year is paid when you join, so you pay R150.00 (monthly) or R650.00 (yearly) to start. Paying yearly saves R50.00 (8%).
How do I pay?+
By EFT. After registering you choose monthly or yearly and get our banking details and your personal reference. Once we see the payment, your QR is unlocked. Before each renewal we email you an invoice.
Can I switch plans or cancel?+
Yes, any time from your dashboard: switch between monthly and yearly, pay a year upfront, or cancel. If you cancel, your QR keeps working until the end of the period you've paid for, and you can come back later without paying the joining fee again.
What if I miss a payment?+
We remind you by email. Your QR keeps working for 14 days after your paid-up date; after that it shows “not active” until you pay, and switches straight back on once we confirm your payment. Nothing is deleted.
If I update my details, do I need a new QR?+
No. Your QR is a link to your page, not the information itself, so it always shows your latest details. Print it once.
What if I sell my car or lose my keys?+
Pause sharing from your dashboard and the QR shows nothing until you switch it back on. If the code is lost for good, revoke it and we issue a fresh one.
Do you replace medical ID bracelets?+
No. We're an additional layer — a self-reported information aid, not a medical device, and we can't guarantee anyone will scan it.
